Artist Info: Now appearing twice a month, hosts and singer/songwriters Brian McComas, who wrote and sang “I Could Never Love You Enough,” and Aaron Benward of Blue County, who wrote and sang “That’s Cool,” present “Nashville Unplugged: The Story Behind the Song.”
In addition to these two talented musicians, they host well-known songwriters to create a fun and unique experience, akin to Nashville’s Bluebird Café.
With a song catalog full of multi-platinum certified songs, including Nick Lachey’s “What’s Left of Me” and the Backstreet Boys’ “Incomplete,” Jess Cates has established himself as one of the music industry’s most accomplished and sought after songwriters.
Cates’ hits include LeAnn Rimes’ “Strong” and Martina McBride’s “I Just Call You Mine,” which peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
In 2008, Cates co-wrote David Archuleta’s debut single, “Crush,” which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Throughout his successful career, Cates has worked with a long list of artists, including Kevin Paige, Jordin Sparks, The Jonas Brothers, Clay Aiken, Taylor Hicks and JC Chavez, among others.
Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Dennis Matkosky has had success in pop, R&B, country and Christian genres. Matkosky’s hits include “Maniac,” which was included in the movie “Flashdance,” and Keith Urban’s “You’ll Think of Me,” which peaked at number one on Billboard Hot Country chart. “I Need You,” recorded by LeeAnn Rimes, climbed to number two on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.
Matkosky has worked with a “Who’s who” in the music industry, including Diana Ross, Clay Aiken, Eddie Money, Boz Scaggs, James Ingram and Chicago, among others.
