Loews Hotels Whoopie Weekend Package

Loews Hotels introduced the new “Whoopie Weekends” package that includes accommodations; a “Make Your Own Whoopie Pie” welcome amenity with marshmallow cream, chocolate mousse and dulce de leche fillings; “Making Whoopie for Two” breakfast in bed or in the hotel restaurant; two “Make Whoopie at Loews” T-shirts; and late check-out. The “Whoopie Weekends” package is based on double occupancy and is valid for one-night stays, Thursday through Saturday nights, July 1, 2010, through February 2011.

Liberace Museum Discounted Admission for Summer

The Liberace Foundation & Museum in Las Vegas is offering a discounted admission rate this summer. Through Labor Day, admission for adults is $10, while seniors and students pay $8.
For $12, guests can take advantage of the Movie at the Museum lunch special on Mondays and Fridays, which includes the designated movie for the day, a sandwich, chips, drink and dessert.
In addition, guests can buy the movie and a snack for $7 or the movie alone for $5.
The Liberace Museum offers complimentary shuttle service to and from several Las Vegas Strip hotels daily. Participating hotels include Bally’s, Bellagio, Treasure Island, the Mirage, the Flamingo and Excalibur. A full shuttle schedule is available online.

Three time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow is coming to rock The Joint this fall. Joining Sheryl will be the talented singer & songwriter Brandi Carlile.
This performance by two great female rockers will take place Saturday, September 11 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at noon.
Catapulted to success in 1993 with the seven times platinum Tuesday Night Music Club, Sheryl Crow established herself as a fixture in the music community early in her career.
She went on to earn three Grammys for the album–Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the classic “All I Wanna Do.” The album also featured hits “Strong Enough,” “Can’t Cry Anymore,” and “Leaving Las Vegas.”
In 1996, Sheryl’s second album, Sheryl Crow, earned the Grammy for Best Rock Album and for the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. 1998′s platinum The Globe Sessions also garnered the Best Rock Album Grammy. “Everyday Is A Winding Road” and “My Favorite Mistake” both reached the Pop Top 20.
The new millennium brought 2002′s platinum C’mon C’mon, whose gold “Soak Up The Sun” peaked in the Top 20 and she again nabbed a Best Female Rock Vocal Performance Grammy for “Steve McQueen.”
The four times platinum 2003 greatest hits compilation, The Very Best Of Sheryl Crow, was also a #2 charter, featuring a cover of Cat Stevens’ “The First Cut Is The Deepest.” 2005′s platinum Wildflower featured the duet with Sting, “Always On Your Side.”
In 2008, Detours was released, in which the fearlessly outspoken Sheryl Crow continued a journey of self-discovery that has increasingly appealed to both the head and the heart. Sheryl is currently in the studio working on a follow-up to Detours which will be released in July 2010.

PRIMUS at the Hardrock

Influential alternative rock icons Primus are back and have confirmed their first headlining tour in four years. Their Vegas show will be a special midnight performance at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, August 14.
The band is refining their chops before heading into the studio to record their first album of brand new music since 1999’s Antipop.
The new album will be released in 2011.
Primus formed in the late ‘80s in Northern California, releasing their first album, Suck On This, in 1989.
They signed to Caroline Records and released the now classic Frizzle Fry in 1990.
As part of the alternative rock explosion of the ‘90s, the band signed to Interscope and gave the world some of the biggest records of the decade, including Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, Pork Soda, Tales From The Punchbowl and The Brown Album, had several Billboard top 10 debuts, garnered a Grammy nomination and wrote the internationally loved and enduring theme song for South Park.

Roger Waters, co-founder and principal songwriter of the archetypal progressive band Pink Floyd, is commemorating the 30th anniversary of the original release of The Wall with a monumental tour featuring a full band and a newly-mounted state-of-the-art production of his epochal masterpiece of alienation and transformation performed in its entirety. The tour stops in Las Vegas at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Friday, November 26. The show is scheduled to begin at 8pm. Tickets priced at $250, $125 and $75 are On Sale Monday, May 10th at 10am. Tickets subject to applicable fees.

The Wall has been previously performed live in its entirety by Waters just 31 times including Pink Floyd’s 1980-81 tour in support of the album.
A spectacular Roger Waters solo staging and performance of the rock opera in July 1990, celebrating the fall of the Berlin Wall, drew nearly a half million fans to the Potsdamer Platz.
Roger Waters’ The Wall North American Tour, produced by Live Nation, will open September 15 in Toronto and runs through December 13 at the Anaheim Honda Center.
The New York Times (March 2, 1980) declared that “The Wall show remains a milestone in rock history, it will be the touchstone against which all future rock spectacles must be measured.”
Originally released in November 1979, The Wall was America’s top-selling album of 1980, is one of the top-selling double albums of all time, and is still in the US Top 5 best-selling albums of all time.
The Wall was made into a metaphorical musical film, directed by Alan Parker with screenplay by Roger Waters, in 1982.
One of the most profoundly influential albums in the history of recorded music, The Wall continues to affect pop culture while resonating with generations of music fans.

LAS VEGAS – After a whirl-wind year, Grammy award-winning band Phoenix will take to the stage at The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. with special guests Holy Ghost.
Influenced by their electro ’80s upbringing, the rock-synth band made their start rehearsing in vocalist Thomas Mars’ garage in the suburbs of Paris. Guitarist Laurent Brancowitz joined younger brother guitarist Chris Mazzalai and bassist Deck d’Arcy in 1995.
The group got their touring start in the late ’90s on the French bar circuit performing Hank Williams and Prince covers. The band took the name Phoenix two years later and pressed 500 copies of a single on their own label, Ghettoblaster. Soon after, they were signed to the Paris-based Source Records.
In 2000, following their two singles “If I Ever Feel Better” and “Too Young,” Phoenix released their debut album, United. Their track “Too Young” was featured on the soundtrack for the movies “Lost in Translation” and “Shallow Hal.”
Further albums include, Alphabetical (2004), Live! Thirty Days Ago (2005), It’s Never Been Like That (2006) and Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (2009).
In 2010, Phoenix won a Grammy Award in the category Best Alternative Music Album for their fifth album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Shortly afterwards, the song “1901″ peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Alternative Songs chart. The track “1901″ was used for the trailer of the film “New York, I Love You” and has also been featured in commercials for the 2010 Cadillac SRX.

LAS VEGAS – The Palms Pool & Bungalows, in partnership with Cruzan Rum, has announced another exciting live poolside performance in its Cruzan Campfire Concert Series.
Vince Neil will kick off the Independence Day weekend with a performance on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. Neil will perform a mix of music from his latest release Tattoos & Tequila as well as chart-toppers from his days as Mötley Crüe’s front man.
Tickets for Vince Neil are $30 for general admission and $50 for a VIP ticket that allows guests access into a special viewing area and includes a complimentary Cruzan cocktail. Cabana reservations are available by calling 702-942-6832.
This month Vince Neil will release his anticipated solo album Tattoos & Tequila which was co-produced by Neil, Jack Blades (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper) and Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Buckcherry).
The album, which is a compilation of genre defining hits that have inspired Neil throughout the years, serves as the soundtrack to the book by the same name which will be released this fall.
The album also includes two new tracks, the title track as well as “Another Bad Day.”
Neil originally came into the national rock spotlight as front man for Mötley Crüe in 1981 and continued with the band for more than a decade.

Artisan Hotel upgraded in Las Vegas

The Siegel Group has reopened the Artisan Hotel in Las Vegas after a six-month renovation.
The Siegel Group bought the property in 2009 and Stephen Siegel personally oversaw the extensive renovations.
The hotel is launching the new Mood at the Artisan Restaurant, Artisan AfterHours, newly renovated rooms and a new pool with day beds, cabanas and weekly events.
Artisan is a non-gaming boutique hotel. The 62-room, two-suite property is literally covered from floor to ceiling with eclectic art and paintings.
The Artisan features a full-service lounge and restaurant, a wedding chapel and a landscaped Mediterranean pool. In addition to the renovations, the hotel is launching a line-up of special events and happy hours and will announce new lounge and poolside events in the coming weeks. Rates start at $99 during the week and $129 on weekends.
