Las Vegas—Australian soft-rock group Air Supply quickly became a staple of early ‘80s radio after their first smash hit, “Lost in Love.” Performing together for more than 30 years, Air Supply returns to The Orleans Showroom May 28, 29 and 30.
Englishman Graham Russell and Australian Russell Hitchcock met in 1975 while performing in the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Later that year, the duo formed Air Supply and released their first smash hit and self-titled debut album, reaching gold in Australia.
After opening for Rod Stewart’s tour in the United States in the late ‘70s, Air Supply had an international breakthrough and signed a distribution deal with Artista Records in 1980.
Their album, Lost in Love, featured three U.S. top five singles, including the title track, which was the fastest-selling single in the world; “Every Woman in the World”; and “All Out of Love,” which hit No. 11 in the United Kingdom’s Top 40 charts.
Throughout the next three years, Air Supply produced hit after hit, including “Just Another Woman,” “The One That You Love,” “Here I Am,” “Sweet Dreams,” “Even The Nights Are Better” and “Making Love Out Of Nothing At All,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts in 1983.
Producing 30 albums and more than 15 hit singles, Air Supply has become a worldwide sensation, touring in Australia, Asia, India, the United States and the Caribbean.
In 2008, as the only Australian band on the list, Air Supply was named No. 83 on Billboard’s top 100 musical acts of all time.

LAS VEGAS – Following a successful run of shows at The Venetian inside its acclaimed Venetian Showroom, David Spade is set to return for another series of engagements throughout 2010. The comedian and actor will take sarcasm and dry wit to a new level with his 75-minute standup routine on real-life situations that only he can spin into comedy. Spade will take the stage throughout the year, with dates June 10 – 12, August 13 – 14 and 20 – 21, Sept. 10 – 11 and 17 – 18, November 5 – 6 and 12 – 13, and Dec. 3 – 4.

His success on the small screen continued with the hit television show “Just Shoot Me,” hosting Comedy Central’s “The Showbiz Show” and most recently starring in the CBS sitcom “Rules of Engagement.”
This June, Spade will once again be featured on the big screen in Sony’s “Grown Ups,” starring Spade, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Kevin James.

Morgans Hotel Group Co. has opened Skybar on the upper pool deck of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas as part of the $750 million property expansion.
The ultra-lounge is located above the HRH Beach Club and is open day and night.
It features an acrylic-edged pool with three peek-a-boo cutouts in the floor that act as skylight windows to the lower HRH Beach Club.
Guests can lounge on the bar seating, custom daybeds, couches and banquettes set on the teakwood-plank floored area.
The lower Skybar pool features 14 cabanas surrounding a circular infinity wading pool.
The cabana menu features the HRH Beach Club Bar & Grill.

The Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino has opened the world’s tallest SkyJump attraction, located 855 feet above the Vegas Strip. Guinness World Records declared SkyJump Las Vegas as the highest commercial decelerator descent, breaking the previous record set by SkyJump at Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre with a height of 764.4 feet.
Located atop of the hotel, SkyJump Las Vegas can best be described as a controlled free fall. Riders are suited-up in jump suits and connected to a patented high-speed descender machine.
Similar to skydiving or base jumping, SkyJumpers literally leap off the platform to descend 829 feet to the landing pad below.
The attraction costs $99.99 per person, and riders must be at least 14 years old to jump.

LAS VEGAS – Platinum-selling rock artists Goo Goo Dolls to perform at The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. as part of the band’s U.S. tour.
Formed in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls released their debut, self-titled album two years later and with the subsequent release of 1990’s Hold Me Up, secured the band’s place in the early ‘90s genre of college radio hits.
The band went on to release several more albums including A Boy Named Goo (1995) featuring the single “Name” and one of the band’s most successful contributions took place in 1998 with the ballad “Iris” which appeared on the soundtrack for the movie City of Angels.
“Iris” received great acclaim and became one of the band’s most popular songs to-date, receiving three Grammy nominations and major market airplay.
The band’s next album, Dizzy Up the Girl, was released in September 1998 and sold more than three million copies and included hit singles “Slide,” “Dizzy” and another Grammy nominated hit “Black Balloon.”
The band released several more albums including a CD/DVD Live in Buffalo: July 4, 2004 and 2006’s Let Love In which marked the band’s eight studio album.
The song “Better Days” from Let Love In proved to be another powerful anthem for the group and the song was used by CNN to promote recovery efforts following the devastating Hurricane Katrina. Goo Goo Dolls released two greatest hits albums Greatest Hits: Volume 1 and Greatest Hits: Volume II in 2007 and 2008 respectively.
The bands ninth studio release, Something for the Rest of Us, is scheduled to be released this spring.
