Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s Entertainment
March 26, 2010
The Las Vegas Hospitality Association (LVHA) has honored Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s Entertainment as Business of the Year during the second Distinction Awards gala.
The 2005 merger between Harrah’s Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment launched a philosophy aimed at offering more choices to meeting planners by unifying the meeting sales and operations of eight Las Vegas properties into a single, city-wide operation.
This concept led to the creation of Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s Entertainment. Combined, Harrah’s Las Vegas properties offer more than 1 million square feet of meeting space, 25,000 guest rooms and suites, and numerous options for dining, entertainment and leisure.
The LVHA also recognized four hospitality professionals for the impact they have made on the development and expansion of the hospitality industry in Las Vegas. Jennifer Cheung, senior sales manager at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, received the Rising Star award; Karen Gordon, founder and president of Activity Planners, received the Spirit award; Chris Meyer, vice president of sales for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, received the Industry Leader award; and Bill Hornbuckle, chief marketing officer at MGM Mirage, received the Legacy award.
