Caesars Palace in Las Vegas has launched an iPhone application and Texpress fast-track check-in.
With the iPhone application, guests will find restaurant hours and hotel information, read the Twitter feed, choose a spa or salon treatment, and see who is performing in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, among other functions.
In addition, a personalized Caesars Palace electronic postcard is customized to display the guest’s photo on the resort’s giant marquee sign.
The resort has the capability to update the application content and offers 24 hours per day and features user opt-in GPS capabilities, which can customize offers to venues located near the user.
The app is available for free download in the iTunes App Store.
Texpress is a mobile phone service designed to fast-track hotel check-in.
One day before arrival, guests text the resort to check in. After arriving, Texpress users bypass the front desk check-in line and proceed directly to the Bell Desk to pick up their room keys. Texpress is available to those who book hotel reservations via CaesarsPalace.com.
Texpress is available to all U.S. cell phone users with text capabilities, including Blackberry and iPhone. Texpress users also may opt to receive text message offers during their stay, including special pricing for spa treatments, cocktails and shows.
Like the iPhone app, Texpress offers will be timed to coincide with the hotel stay and cease after checkout.

Wynn Las Vegas has partnered with the N9NE Group’s Michael Morton to open a wine bar at the hotel this fall.
The bar will offer wines, beers, organic spirits and specialty cocktails.
Food menu items will include charcuterie, farmhouse cheeses, hand-cut crudo, tapas a la plancha and bite-size desserts.
Music will be derived from rhythms from around the world including Italy, Spain, France, Argentina, Chile and Australia.

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will unveil five new pools in its Garden of the Gods pool complex in March.
The five multi-layer pools (Apollo, Fortuna, Jupiter and two side-by-sides known as Bacchus) will join the hotel’s three existing pools (Neptune, Venus and Temple), expanding the Garden of the Gods area to five acres.
New amenities will include swim-up gaming, an 18-foot waterfall and new cocktails. Custom blue deck chairs and daybeds will surround each of the pools, along with 45 technologically advanced cabanas.

The Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino plans to debut SkyJump Las Vegas, a controlled freefall where riders will plummet 855 feet at up to 40 miles per hour, in April.
SkyJump Las Vegas is designed to offer a way to experience thrills similar to skydiving and base jumping.
Riders will be given a short safety lesson and then be suited up in Stratosphere’s custom jump suits.
Each rider will then be connected to a patented, high-speed “descender” machine and led to the edge of a small platform where he or she will leap out and descend 100-plus stories.
Guide wires will keep riders from straying off course. Just prior to reaching the ground, the machine will slow the rider down, bringing him or her to a controlled and safe landing.
