Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas Vanity Nightclub

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will open Vanity nightclub in its new HRH Tower on Dec. 31 to ring in 2010, followed by the official grand opening party Jan. 2 hosted by Diddy. Vanity’s entrance features a collage of reflective tile and antique vanity mirrors.
The interior features an eclectic jewel box adorned with pearls, hand-cut crystals and reflective walls of bronze fused with metallic gold.
The heartbeat of the club is a cyclone chandelier lit from within by more than 20,000 LED lights.
The 14,000-square-foot venue features two marble bars, 50 VIP booths, an outdoor terrace with cabanas and a fire pit and offers direct access to the new outdoor Sky Bar opening in April 2010.
The ladies’ lounge offers nail and makeup technicians available for touch ups, and all bathrooms are equipped with full-length, three-way mirrors. VIP seating lines the 80-foot sunken dance floor, while a larger center seating area borders an onyx catwalk lined with tall lanterns. Staff in rocker-style uniforms offer champagne menus engraved on handheld antique mirrors.
Vanity will be open Thursday through Sunday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Cover charges will be $20 for women and $40 for men; local ladies can enter for free at all times.

Rhumbar cocktail lounge at The Mirage has announced Rhumbash 2010, a New Year’s Eve party under the stars. Tickets are $75 and include party favors and a midnight champagne toast.

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas at CityCenter

The Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas has opened at CityCenter.
The 47-story, non-gaming hotel features a contemporary design. Each of the 392 guestrooms has technological enhancements including keyless door locks and automated control panels that allow guests to manage the lighting, room temperature and entertainment systems at the touch of a button.
Three presidential suites are located on the hotel’s top floors, each measuring over 3,200 square feet.
Dining and cocktail venues include Twist by Pierre Gagnaire, a Michelin-star chef. Twist, his first U.S. restaurant, serves classic French cuisine with a modern spin. Another restaurant, Mozen Bistro, offers authentic Asian dishes and multi-national fare all day. Located on the 23rd floor near the Sky Lobby are the Mandarin Bar and the Tea Lounge.
Amore Patisserie is located on Las Vegas Boulevard.
The two-level, 27,000-square-foot spa offers 17 treatment rooms, as well as relaxation areas and water features, a fitness center and a yoga studio.
The spa provides a holistic experience based on the union of modern techniques and Eastern traditions.
The hotel also offers a pool with 20 cabanas and a poolside café.
With more than 12,000 square feet of function space, the hotel accommodates up to 600 people for meetings and events. Situated on the hotel’s third level with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, the 7,650-square-foot Oriental Ballroom and the hotel’s three smaller function rooms are equipped with technology systems and spacious pre-function areas.
To celebrate its opening, the Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas is offering a free night with a booking of one or more consecutive paid nights through Feb. 28, 2010.

Crystals Shopping & Dining at Las Vegas’ CityCenter

The 500,000-square-foot Crystals, a high-end shopping, dining and entertainment destination, officially opened at CityCenter in Las Vegas. The Crystals’ exterior architecture is a multi-faceted glass canopy that allows natural light into the three-level structure.
Inside is an abstract, 21st century park designed to celebrate nature and the seasons, featuring changeable artwork in the way of hanging gardens and a flower carpet.
Among the retailers is one of the largest Louis Vuitton stores in the world, as well as flagship stores for Tiffany & Co., Prada, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Ermenegildo Zegna.
New-to-the-market retailers include Tom Ford, Assouline, Carolina Herrera, de Grisogono, Kiki De Montparnasse, Kiton, Lanvin, Marni, Mikimoto, Miu Miu, Paul Smith, Porsche Design, Rodney Lough Gallery and Tourbillon.
Other luxury retailers opening large format stores are Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Cartier, Christian Dior, Fendi, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Versace.
Many of these brands will be opening this month, with the balance opening in the first half of 2010.
Among the restaurants already opened or set to open soon are Eva Longoria Parker’s Beso, Mastro’s Ocean Club, a Todd English P.U.B., and two new restaurants by Wolfgang Puck — The Pods by Wolfgang Puck and Brasserie Puck.
