LAS VEGAS – Comedy’s Loveable Queen of Mean and Grammy-nominated comedian Lisa Lampanelli is set to perform at The Pearl Concert Theater on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 8 p.m.
Heralded as “more than a standup — a standout,” by comedy legend Jim Carrey, Lisa Lampanelli is a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker and a vial of estrogen. She even won accolades from “The King of All Media” Howard Stern, who called her “a true original and a brilliant comedy mind who’ll steal the show every time.”
This equal opportunity offender is a regular on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and Howard Stern’s Sirius satellite radio shows. She recently joined the ranks of comic greats and added her first ever one-hour HBO comedy special, “Long Live the Queen,” to her resume, with a CD and DVD of the special to follow. In addition, her first book, “Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks,” hit bookstore shelves this past September.

Lampanelli’s rise to the top of the comedy food chain began in 2002 when she was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on the NY Friars Club Roast on Comedy Central. She soon became one of the few white comedians to perform on BET’s “Comic View,” cementing her huge crossover appeal.
A year later, she rocked Comedy Central once again in her back-to-back appearances on “Premium Blend” and on the enormously rated “Roast of Jeff Foxworthy.”
Her 2005 one-hour special, “Take It Like a Man,” was a hit with the comedy network yet again, and the CD and the DVD of the same name hit No. 6 on the comedy charts.
In January 2007, Lampanelli’s second one-hour special, “Dirty Girl,” debuted on Comedy Central and Warner Bros. Records and reached No. 4 on the charts.
Soon thereafter, “Dirty Girl” was nominated for a Grammy Award for 2007’s Best Comedy Album of the Year.
Lampanelli appeared in “Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector” and had a featured role in “Delta Farce,” opposite Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy and D.J. Quall.
She also starred in the feature film, “The Aristocrats” and most recently played a more maternal version of herself in the Owen Wilson vehicle “Drillbit Taylor.”
She is currently developing a pilot for a weekly series on HBO with executive producers Jim Carrey and Kario Salem.
This event is presented by Andrew Hewitt and Live Nation. The Pearl Box Office is open from noon – 7 p.m. daily. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and show time is 8 p.m. The Pearl is home to Miller Lite Live, sponsored by Citi; for more information on upcoming concerts, please call 702-942-6888.

GRAND OPENING OF BESO AND EVE AT CITYCENTER

Longoria Parker to Host New Year’s Eve Party to Celebrate
LAS VEGAS – Eva Longoria Parker will introduce her contemporary steakhouse with Latin flair, Beso, and her luxurious new nightclub, Eve, with a New Year’s Eve grand opening celebration at the much anticipated CityCenter complex in Las Vegas. Located at Crystals, Beso and Eve occupy two stories at the entrance at The Park across from ARIA.
“I am thrilled to be expanding my restaurant franchise, and cannot think of a more perfect location than Crystals at CityCenter,” said Eva Longoria Parker. “Vegas is full of energy, excitement, and in the city of lights, Beso will be right at home.”
Beso, the Spanish word for kiss, combines Longoria Parker’s Latin heritage and her passion for cooking with the culinary talents of celebrated chef, Todd English.
The result is an array of memorable dishes, from flavorful, tender cuts of aged beef to an assortment of fresh ceviche selections.
Like her popular original Beso in Hollywood, the Las Vegas interpretation will pair delicious fare with impeccable service and a luxuriously hip ambience; a can’t-miss combination for the A-List.
Deep chocolate browns and rich gold finishes envelope Beso’s 6,000-square-foot interior, with a splash of red marking the exhibition kitchen as tribute to the brand’s signature kiss.
Custom-designed chandeliers handmade from the Swarovski Crystal curtain created especially for the 2009 Academy Awards are the prevailing design feature of the gorgeous dining room, where floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the backdrop of CityCenter’s striking architecture.
The lounge at Beso, a dynamic meeting spot for before and after dinner, is designed to encourage a vivacious mix-and-mingle atmosphere. A patio is situated on a bustling corner of Crystals overlooking the ARIA porte cochere, and will offer outdoor dining year round.
On the second level, guests will be swept into the elegant atmosphere of Eve where a breathtaking 50-foot arched ceiling and lavish VIP booths accentuate the glamorous interior.
The highly anticipated 8,000-square-foot hotspot will be enveloped in black with accents of sparkling gold, and mirrored windows will showcase the nighttime views outside.
One-of-a kind colossal video screens surrounding the dance floor are a striking, state-of-the art feature unique to Eve alone. Renowned DJs and a premium sound and lighting system will make Eve the ultimate nightclub to dance the night away.
Longoria Parker will host a grand opening celebration on New Year’s Eve, and will lead revelers in a countdown and champagne toast to ring in 2010. Guests will also enjoy an array of signature hors d’oeuvres from Beso, as well as an open bar from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Advance tickets to this exclusive event are available now for $125, and may be purchased by calling 702.227.EVE8 (3838) or via email at reservations@evethenightclub.com
Longoria Parker opened the original Beso in Hollywood with partner and celebrity chef, English, in March 2008. Located on Hollywood Boulevard, Beso is accompanied by Kiss Nightclub, a rich Victorian-themed hotspot set lavishly above the restaurant, creating the ultimate venue for celebrities and guests to sip champagne while enjoying the reverie of music from Hollywood’s hottest DJs.
For more information about Beso and Kiss Nightclub in Hollywood, guests may call 323.467.7991 or visit www.BESOHollywood.com
Beso and Eve are located at 3720 Las Vegas Boulevard, South.
