Artist Info: Hard rockers Y&T formed in 1974 in the San Francisco Bay area.
The band shortened their name from Yesterday & Today, a popular Beatles song, to Y&T when they signed with A&M Records in 1980. In more than 30 years, they have sold more than 4 million albums, five of which reached Billboard’s Top 100. Well-known hits include “Mean Streak” in 1983 and “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” in 1990.
Their most popular song released in 1985, “Summertime Girls,” continues to play on classic rock radio stations throughout the country. Some other radio favorites include “Lipstick & Leather” and “Don’t Stop Runnin’.” The band re-mastered and released the albums Black Tiger and Mean Streak in late 2005 and Earthshaker and In Rock We Trust in late 2006, in conjunction with Universal Music Group. Y&T currently consists of original members Dave Meniketti on vocals and lead guitar and Phil Kennemore on bass with the addition of John Nymann on guitar and Mike Vanderhule on drums.
