Disco Ball guests can “shake their grove thang” to the anthems of the ‘70s when headliners Village People and Gloria Gaynor take center stage at Orleans Arena on July 11.
Village People, the disco-era legends that take the stage dressed as an Indian chief, G.I., construction worker, cop, cowboy and biker, have been entertaining audiences with hits such as “Macho Man,” “In The Navy” and “YMCA” for three decades.
Gaynor, known the world over for “I Will Survive,” has been setting the dance music standard for more than 35 years. Her hits include “Never Can Say Good-Bye” and “Just Keep Thinkin’ About You,” among others.
Tavares will also perform, as well as The Trammps, adding to the evening’s disco inferno.

Las Vegas, Nev. – The scene in Las Vegas is about to change forever, starting with the opening of the new Joint concert venue at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. Despite the economic downturn, the Hard Rock is still expanding and plans to welcome summer in true rock fashion with a wild, wet, and unbelievable weekend April 17-19. Sir Paul McCartney will headline the extravagant weekend opening the all new $60 million concert venue The Joint at Hard Rock.

The weekend lineup also includes the much-anticipated grand opening of motocross superstar Carey Hart’s Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company. The event marks the achievement of Carey’s two longtime dreams of having his tattoo shop and rock club, Wasted Space, under one roof.
And as many people around the country are anxiously awaiting warmer weather, the creators of Vegas “daylife” will launch a new season of REHAB for its record-breaking sixth year.
Events will continue at the property all weekend with various after-hours parties at Wasted Space, Rare 120, AGO, and Body English.

The Joint:
The new Joint will rock to larger audiences and will be one of the most sophisticated, intimate, and authentic venues in Las Vegas. The state-of-the-art and innovative concert venue is continuing the legacy of its legendary original Hard Rock venue. To maximize fan’s enjoyment with a genuine experience, the new Joint will double in size while keeping the historic atmosphere of the original venue, from which it inherited its name. The furthest seat in the house for any of the 4,000 fans is only 155 feet from the stage, keeping the performance personal and memorable.
REHAB:
Creating the “daylife” pool party scene in Vegas, the sixth season of Rehab will be kicking off with a blowout performance by non-other than the infamous Snoop Dogg on Sunday, April 19. Selected by the Travel Channel as one of “The Top 10 Pools” in the world the Hard Rock continues to raise the bar for REHAB with cabanas often filled with the hottest celebs and swim-up blackjack at the poolside Palapa. Rehab takes place weekly ever Sunday through September.
Hart and Huntington Tattoo Company (H&H Tattoo):
H&H Tattoo is officially opening April 18 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The shop is founded by freestyle motocross legend, FMX phenom and television star of “Inked,” Carey Hart. The shop will cater to Hard Rock’s young, hip clientele and celebrities. The shop and Hart’s nightclub Wasted Space will host various parties for guests throughout the weekend. “The Hard Rock has always been, and continues to be, one of the coolest and most high profile casinos in Las Vegas so it was a natural fit. We are one of the most high profile tattoo shops in the country so we chose to be in the highest profile casino in the country,” says Hart on the recent move to the Hard Rock.

The once intimate poolside party for locals has grown into one of the most extravagant and luxurious outdoor destinations in Las Vegas – catering to thousands of beautiful, trendsetting, rich and the famous celebrities, partygoers, and revelers alike from all over the world.
The 2009 season of REHAB launches Sunday, April 19 and will unveil a number of fresh features including an expansion to the pool that was previously named one of the top-10 pools in the world by the Travel Channel, as well as renovations to 50 of the signature thatch-roof cabanas including 42-inch plasma flat screen HD televisions and poolside spa service options. The Hard Rock has also added brand new sundecks with daybeds, as well as a new, state-of-the-art sound system sure to elevate the live performances REHAB is known for.
Due in part to the success of the popular truTV reality show, “REHAB, Party at the Hard Rock Hotel,” rooms for opening weekend have been sold out for months and summer reservations have more than doubled since 2008. Another reason for the high demand weekend is Grammy Award-winning artist and west coast rap pioneer, Snoop Dogg, who is headlining the opening party.
As one of truTV’s highest rated programs, “REHAB, Party at the Hard Rock Hotel” will welcome back some of viewers’ favorite cast members, and will assemble a cast of hot newcomers sure to take the show, and the party, to new heights. The reality show will be filming season two at REHAB every Sunday.
“Over the years, many hotels have tried to replicate the Hard Rock REHAB experience, most resulting in nothing more than average poolside parties,” said Phil Shalala, VP of Marketing for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. “There’s no comparison to the party we throw every Sunday. Hard Rock invented “daylife” in Vegas. Creating our own REHAB reality TV show, now in its second season was the logical next step.

Guests can still expect some of their favorite amenities at REHAB including 4.7 acres of tropical paradise with real sand beaches and Caribbean-blue water that meanders for almost a mile throughout the property, the top-notch food and beverage service from the Hard Rock Beach Club, and the popular “swim-up” Blackjack tables.
In addition, guests will still enjoy Rock Star Lemonades as they party to world-famous DJs including Clinton Sparks, DJ Vice, DJ Steve Aoki, Jonathan Peters, Fredde Le Grand & Funkerman, and Scooter & Lavelle. .
REHAB takes place weekly each Sunday through September. Hours of operation are from 11:00 a.m. until sunset.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for Cabana guests. Cover charges vary based on holidays and special events, but generally cover is $40 for men, $20 for women.
This season, lucky local ladies are admitted for no cover. Rehab patrons will also enjoy a separate valet near the pool entrance for easy access.

Alaska Airlines has announced new nonstop service between Bellingham, Wash., and Las Vegas starting June 25. The flights will operate each way on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines will also continue to offer four-times-daily Bellingham-Las Vegas service via Seattle.
Alaska Airlines is offering $59 one-way fares on the new nonstop route for tickets purchased by April 22, 2009, for travel through Aug. 30, 2009.
The airline also is offering Las Vegas Vacations packages for as low as $208 per person, which includes roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations for two nights. Travelers can earn double Mileage Plan miles on the new flights from June 25 through Aug. 30, 2009.

Newly reunited New Kids on the Block bring their 2009 tour to The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, July 11, 2009.
Teen sensations New Kids on the Block grew up and reunited in 2008 for a massive tour which included sold out stops around North America and even spawned a New Kids on the Block cruise. The group which originally hit the pop scene during the start of the boy band craze in 1986 and hit major success with Hangin’ Tough in 1988. The group, after coming back for a brief stint at NKOTB, disbanded in 1994 and many of them went on to begin solo careers in music and acting.
In 2008 the group released The Block which debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts. The new album included the hit single “Summertime” and a new crowd favorite “Click, Click, Click.”
This event is presented by Andrew Hewitt and Live Nation. The Pearl Box Office is open from noon – 7 p.m. daily.
