The new M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas has become the first U.S. casino to offer in-running betting — wagering on live sporting events before and throughout the event — at its Race and Sports Book.
The M Resort offers in-running bets for select games, beginning with men’s college basketball and continuing with professional baseball and football. Initially, in-running bets can be made on the total points of the game, the spread or the money line. As bettors begin to use and understand in-running, more options will be added so bets can also be made on proposition-type wagers such as the number of free-throws scored during the game, the next team to score a touchdown, or whether the next pitch will be a strike.
Bettors can make educated decisions about how the game is shaping up and hedge their bets based on the action.
Guests must have an account to utilize in-running bets and can sign up at the M’s Race and Sports Book. The Race and Sports Book will also have extra betting tablets, roughly the size of a notebook, for guests to check out and carry with them anywhere in the Race and Sports Book.

Jazz in the Park celebrates its 20th year with free concerts in May and June
LAS VEGAS – The Jazz in the Park concert series celebrates its 20th year with the Clean Air Series, sponsored by Clark County’s Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management and Clark County Parks and Recreation. The free series will feature national acts such as Allen Toussaint on May 9, Delfeayo Marsalis on May 23 and The Sax Pack, starring Jeff Kasiwa, Kim Waters and Steve Cole, on June 6. Seating for those with picnic baskets, blankets and low-back chairs will begin at 7 p.m. with performances beginning at 8 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Food vendors also will be available on site. Parking is free.
Allen Toussaint will kick off the series May 9 with tunes from his recently released album The Bright Mississippi.
The CD comes close on the heels of Allen’s recent high-profile presence at the 2009 Grammy Awards where he was a featured interviewee in the Grammy Legends series.
During the awards, Toussaint was honored with the prestigious Trustees Award and participated in the worldwide broadcast in a segment featuring Lil Wayne, Terence Blanchard and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
The performance on May 23 has been dubbed the “Clean Air Festival” starring Delfeayo Marsalis of the famously talented Marsalis clan of professional musicians. Marsalis has been labeled one of the freshest modern voices on the trombone to arrive in the ‘90s.
He has toured internationally with legendary jazz artists Art Blakely, Abdullah Ibrahim, Elvin Jones, Slide Hampton and Max Roach as well as with his own modern jazz ensemble.
In addition to the concert, environmental organizations will present information, clean green vehicles and plenty of surprises.

The Sax Pack will conclude the series with high-energy saxophone technique that combines their individual styles and diverse backgrounds for a fresh approach to the music that inspired them all to become musicians – jazz. “Ol’ Blue Eyes” Favorites to Suncoast Showroom May 8-10
Las Vegas—Shades of Sinatra, a celebration of the life and sound of “Ol’ Blue Eyes,” returns to the Suncoast Showroom, May 8, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m., bringing songs and poignant stories of the legendary singer.
Designed as a vintage, off-the-cuff Vegas show, Shades of Sinatra doesn’t try to impersonate the man, but instead blends signature Frank Sinatra favorites with some of the most beloved sounds from his era in a show aimed at both long-time and casual Sinatra fans. Humor and good-natured ribbing among cast members tie together the musical numbers and storytelling.
In 2005, Shades of Sinatra creator Kelly Clinton assembled the group’s three male vocalists, Larry Liso, Ryan Baker and Carmine Mandia, all heavily influenced by Sinatra. Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits will feature career-spanning classics inspired by a mix of practical spirituality, a rebel-from-the-street vibe and passionate, virtuoso guitar playing. The set list will include a nostalgic collection of touchstone tracks reaching back as far as the first charting single “Jingo” (1969) and first Top 10 hit “Evil Ways” (1970), up through the latest hit, “Into The Night.” Naturally, Carlos Santana will be accompanied by his band members Chester Thompson (keyboards), Karl Perazzo (timbales), Benny Rietveld (bass), Dennis Chambers (drums), Raul Rekow (congas), Andy Vargas (vocals), Tony Lindsay (vocals), Tommy Anthony (rhythm guitar), Jeff Cressman (trombone) and Bill Ortiz (trumpet). Bonkerz Comedy Club inside Palace Station, instructor Mick Lazinski and comedy students
After much success with the first session, Bonkerz Comedy Club will begin its second session of comedy classes. The six-week class will be held every Thursday inside the club from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The classes will let each comic focus on his or her own stand-up material and teach techniques to help with timing, delivery and working the crowd. The course’s main instructor, Mick Lazinski, will offer the students insight from his real-life experiences as a comedian. Lazinski has headlined at comedy clubs all over the country and opened for acts such as Joan Rivers, Craig Ferguson and the legendary George Carlin. At the end of the course, the students will have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience and will receive a DVD of their 5 minutes on stage.
