Artist Info: Eric Burdon’s recording career began in Newcastle, England, where he first covered songs by his idols such as Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker, among others. His band, Eric and The Animals, quickly gained notoriety as England’s best R&B band when they were selected by the pirate radio station Radio Caroline as the feature for the first broadcast to the U.S. By 1964, The Animals gained international fame with the release of an electrified version of the traditional folk number, “The House of the Rising Sun.” Afterwards they followed with such classics as “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” “We Gotta Get Out of This Place” and “See See Rider.” Following The Animals, Burdon joined the funk band WAR and in 1970 released the hit album Eric Burdon Declares WAR, which includes the hit songs “Tobacco Road” and “Spill the Wine.” One year later, he left the band to pursue a solo career. In 1995, Burdon and the original Animals were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Burdon continues to tour and most recently released two volumes of ultimate rarities in 2008.

Artist Info: Heavy metal band Skid Row formed in 1986 by bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave “The Snake” Sabo. In 1989, the band released its first album, Skid Row which was an enormous success, reaching platinum status five times over and including the hits “Youth Gone Wild,” “18 and Life” and “I Remember You.”
Two years later, the band released the number one album Slave to the Grind, receiving a two times platinum status. Following the release of Subhuman Race, Skid Row took a break and reformed in 2000. The band has been touring since and has released more albums, including Revolutions Per Minute in 2006.

Group tickets sales for Disney’s first-ever Las Vegas theatrical production of “The Lion King” have begun at Mandalay Bay.Currently in its 12th smash year on Broadway and seen by more than 45 million people in 11 countries, “The Lion King” will begin preview performances in Las Vegas on April 20 and open on May 2, 2009.
Housed inside the Mandalay Bay Theatre, the production will be staged with all of the spectacular music, sets and costumes that have established it as a worldwide phenomenon.
The performance schedule is as follows for April 22 to May 7, 2009: Monday-Sunday at 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 25 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m.; dark April 29 and Friday, May 8.

February 11, 2009. Mandalay Bay and Disney Theatrical Productions are offering exclusive “Lion King” gifts to the first guests who buy tickets for the upcoming production, which go on sale Feb. 28. Fans will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets during a special on-sale event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center box office from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.; purchasing guests will receive commemorative gifts during the event, while supplies last.All other outlets, phone and online sales will launch at 10 a.m.
The first guest in line at the Mandalay Bay Events Center box office will receive autographed copies of “The Lion King: Pride Rock on Broadway” and “How Does the Show Go On?” by Thomas Schumacher, president of Disney Theatrical Productions.
The first 100 guests will receive a full-length CD of the musical.
Preview performances will run April 22 through May 1 at 8 p.m. and April 25 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The grand opening will take place May 2 with a 7 p.m. performance only.
Beginning May 3, show times will be Monday through Thursday at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday, May 3, will have an 8 p.m. performance only.
There are no performances on Fridays. Tickets prices are $53, $86 and $113.50. VIP packages, which include premium seating, a souvenir program and a VIP show merchandise item, will be available for $168.50. Tax and service fees are included in all prices.
