Music is mostly hip hop, house and retro dance music. One of the best views, outside of Voodoo Lounge, of the town.

The place looks like something out of a Jetsons cartoon with a 180 degree view of the city. There are two bars along the patio that extends out form the nightclub. IVAN KANE’S FORTY DEUCE (Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino)

The real party starts with Burlesque at 11:30 pm when another show about 90 minutes later; one of the best club burlesque shows anywhere. Seating is first come first served; handicapped accessible. The club looks like a speakeasy right out of the 1920s Prohibition era. The burlesque is a non-nude affair, but fun, backed with a  three piece combo of bass, drums and sax. A DJ plays between burlesque performances. There are two bars in the club one in the back and one in the front. Every Friday at midnight the Men of Krave put on a show that is very risqué, hosted by Kenny Kerr, a longtime entertainer best known from his days in Boylesque. LIGHT NIGHCLUB (Bellagio Hotel and Casino)

Avoid the lines by getting there before 11 pm.  Light is hard to find within Bellagio, and you have to take an escalator to get to it and then walk down a candelit hallway lined with mirrors. The club is named after the Light New York Nightclub. The dance floor is not spacious, but the club interior is exquisite. There are 30 tables with bottle service, with ten people to a table. The VIP area is the way to go. Two full bars serve cocktails and beers. Music is mostly hip hop and house tunes, with go go dancers. To leave the club you take an elevator which is down another long dark hall.Age Group: 21 and older. Occupancy: 700. Seating for 300; Handicapped accessible.

OPM NIGHT CLUB (Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino)

There are two rooms featuring mostly jazz tunes. The Orchid Room features an eclectic mixture of funk, jazz, and house tunes. OPM’s main dance room has modern beat music. Open to late hours with resident DJs. Dress Code enforced. This is a stylist club. Table reservations are suggested. There are private tables just off the dance floor or for groups take the private balcony. The Rockster Room is about $750 and seats 40; The Edge Room is about $600 and seats 40, too. Both rooms have bottle service with food prepared by Wolfgang Puck’s Chinois restaurant until 3 a.m. There is handicapped seating. Music:  Pure is one of the hottest and biggest clubs in Vegas, co owned by Celine Dion and Andre Agassi.  Music is a remix of house, rock and hip hop with DJs spinning the tunes in three different areas. Dress code enforced. There is ample seating with handicapped accessibility. The club is over 36,000 square feet on two levels with a main room that is pure white, silver or ivory. There are 3 bars in the main room with a raised VIP area with oversized bed seating around the dance floor. The Red Rod is for VIPS and is private and away from the main room with its own bar and restrooms, adorned in rich champagne colors and draps. There are private booths for even more intimacy. If you take the glass elevator or the twisting staircase to the Terrace, you will have panoramic views from the 14,000 square foot oval dance floor with private cabanas and tables. This is an outdoor venue.Age Group: 21 and older.

RAIN LAS VEGAS (Palms Hotel and Casino)

The Water Booths are $300 and seat 6-8 people. Bottle service is available. Many areas are handicapped accessible. You enter the club through a light infused tunnel and the club itself has one of the best dance floors in Vegas with state-of-the-art lighting and sound. The club has one of the best wine lists in town, dance under elegant décor. The club is above the Ah Sin Asian restaurant and the club itself has two levels, with a roped off VIP couch area. After wandering around I found private rooms and the club is very Asian in the motif department, with mirrors, bamboo plants and artwork. There is bottled table service. There are 7 private balconies, and the more private Salon Privée with its own bars, elegant chandeliers and furniture and velvet drapes. The French Monsieur’s and Mesdames restrooms are separated by a translucent glass wall. The restrooms are elegant with vaulted red ceilings and light boxes and stainless steel fixtures. There are also occasional Latin night parties at the club.Age Group: 21 and older.

RUMJUNGLE (Mandalay Hotel and Casino)

The club has Vegas’ largest supply of rum, stacked to the top of the club. Check out the walls of water lined with fire. Music: Resident DJs dish up the disco, techno, Top 40, house dance tunes and hip hop. This is a funky club so dress the same way, but no flannels, baggy jeans, tanks or tennis shoes. The huge club holds 2,200. There is plentiful seating and handicapped accessible. Every Tuesday is Eden Night which stands for Erotically delicious Entertainer’s Night. There is lots of go go action going on at the club, which is a reincarnation of the club from NYC from the 1990s. Check out the gallery of celebs photos. Be there during the confetti cannons and balloon drops, with lots of video screens for music videos and the real live thing. They have eliminated the entrance bottleneck so the club is now more fun. The 3,000 foot entrance has gorgeous drapes that are over 20 feet long, seven foot high back chairs and couches for lounging and fiber optic chandeliers. Be sure to meet Mr. Freeze. This is a huge club at 25,000 square feet with enormous disco ball and Studio 54 signage. The VIP area has also bee renovated with a new DJ Playhouse, which is elevated 3 feet off the floor.  The go go dancers are around the dance floor, and three bars serve up the booze at the Steel Bar, The Hot Bar and the Voyeur Bar. There is reserved seating for up to 126 people, VIPs are swished off to the second floor.Age Group: 21 and older.
TABU (MGM)Hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 10 p.m. to dawn.

Music:  This is one of the plushest lounges in Vegas with a loyal local following. Resident DJs spin hip hop and techno European house tunes. Dress code enforced. The club only holds 350 people at any one time so it is always packed. VIP packages are available with lots of seating and handicapped accessibility, just off the casino floor room. Tuesdays is Open Decks night, Wednesdays is Boutique night for fashionistas, Thursdays is Fusion night with a mix of hip hop and R&B and Friday is Slide for breakers, poppers with funky tunes. The ultra lounge has a great list of specialty cocktails with tableside mixology by the  hostesses, hosts. Images are displayed like a light show on your drink tables and two tables are interactive. There are two bars and two private areas within the club. The club has a special champagne and vodka locker and a huge beehive room for private events. This is really a lounge and the dance floor is not big. Winner of the 2005 Epicurean Award for Best Lounge.Age Group: 21 and older.TAO (Venetian Hotel and Casino)Hours: Wednesday – Saturday, 10:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.

Music: Resident DJ spin the tunes on Wednesdays. Dress in business attire. No shorts or tanks. Dress code enforced. The club holds 2,500 revelers. No need for reservations; plentiful seating; handicapped accessible. Wednesday is Sutra night and Thursday is Worship night for locals. The 10,000 square foot club is named after a NY City club of the same name. The area also has a restaurant, banquet hall and lounge. There are two rooms at the Nightclub, the Temple and The Emperor’s Ballroom. There are also eight private sky boxes with mini bars, espresso machines and banquettes. Bottle service is available. Great views from the patio section.

THEATRO EURO BAR (MGM)Hours: Sunday-Thursday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Friday and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m.Music:  This is one of the trendiest of clubs in Vegas, with lounge and retro and progressive world music and house blends spewing out from an excellent sound system.  This is also the greatest place in town for aperitifs, hand made cocktails and specialty drinks, beers and hard drinks. Check out the Catwalk champagne bar. The décor is red hot just like the club with unique lighting and comfortable bar chairs along a very wide bar.Age Group: 21 and older.

TRYST (Wynn Las Vegas)
Open: Thursday – Sunday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.Music:  This is a chic new club in one of the newest hotels in Vegas. There is European style bottle service. DJs spin ‘80s dance music, hip hop, rock, Top 40s, and dance tune; dress code enforced. There are lots of couches and tables and it is handicapped accessible. Thursdays is the Affair Night for locals night. The 222 square foot night club has its own 94 foot waterfall with a dance floor extending over the lagoon with great views of the Strip. Sliding glass doors bring the outdoors indoors. I loved the alligator skin booths, marble tables and velvet like walls. Music:  The resident DJs spin up dance tunes, hip hop, and Top 40. Dress code is enforced, so no beach apparel or sportswear, not even open toed sandals. The club holds 700, with ample seating and handicapped accessibility. Enter the club along wooden trellises with beams of light leading to the main room. The leather banquettes are great for talking and drinking. Holographic graphics and images of dancing girls are projected through the club with silhouettes bounced off large glass screens hung above the banquettes. There are also live go go dancers. The dance floor is surrounded by a large light wall that are in sync with the music. The 9,000 square foot club is not the largest, but it certainly is one of the nicest in town.Age Group: 21 and over.

VOODOO LOUNGE ( Rio Hotel and Suites )Hours:  The Cafe is open daily, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and the lounge is open daily, from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Music:  Voodoo Lounge, named after the rituals from New Orleans is one of my all time favorite nightclubs because it is at the top (51^st floor) of the Rio with great views of the entire city.  The resident DJs spin Top 40, hip-hop, and dance music, with live bands coming on board during certain occasions or night of the week. Latin night is on Mondays, called Elevación.  Dress code is casual but dressy, no hats tees or tanks or baggy sports clothing. The club is small and you have to ride a long elevator to get there but the view is worth it.  There is an indoor and outdoor bar, and the outdoor patio area is tiered with comfy seating; handicapped accessible. Even the panoramic windows indoors provides great views. Try some of the specialty drinks, like the Third Eye and Jamaican Hellfire or the Witch Doctor or the Voodoo Doll. From the patio you can gain entrance to Voodoo Café on the 50^th floor by walking down the steel open-air staircase.
