LAS VEGAS – Being one of the few bands to explode during the late ‘90s and maintain their style with the same panache, indie rockers Oasis return to the United States for the first US tour in three years and will perform at The Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. Joining Oasis will be alt-country crossover Ryan Adams whose singer/songwriter style has brought him popularity with mainstream audiences.
With their seventh studio album due October 7, 2008 titled Dig Out Your Soul, Oasis continues to bring fans new music with hauntingly familiar undertones and the bravado fans have come to expect from the British rockers. The album and the Noel Gallagher penned first single, “The Shock of the Lightning,” mark the first Oasis music to be released on their own Big Brother label.
Dig follows release Stop the Clocks (2006), the first-ever retrospective of the band including many of their #1 singles, as well as B-sides chosen by the band themselves. The album includes “Supersonic” and “Wonderwall” among 16 others.
After inspiration from The Smiths and The Stone Roses in the mid-‘80s, Liam Gallagher, along with brother Noel, began looking at being musicians as a career and ambitiously beginning to work Britain’s music scene to make a name for Oasis.
Their debut album Definitely Maybe (1994) received mixed reviews, but over the years has solidified itself as a classic of British rock ‘n roll. Following that release the second studio album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) was a hit world-wide as their fan base grew quickly thanks to singles “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova.” In 1997, they released Be Here Now, followed by 2002’s Heathen Chemistry with new members Gem Archer and Andy Bell, breathing new excitement in to the band. Heralded as their “triumphant return,” 2005’s Don’t Believe the Truth expanded on the entire band’s songwriting skills and received acclaim from critics and fans alike.
Presented by Andrew Hewitt and Live Nation, tickets for Oasis, with special guest Ryan Adams, are $88.00, $99.00 and $153.00, plus any additional service fees.
