“HOLIDAY CELEBRATION ON ICE” AT THE ORLEANS ARENANational, World and Olympic Figure Skaters Perform to Celebrate the Holiday Season

LAS VEGAS—Beloved singers and songwriters Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith will provide the magical sounds of the holidays while an impressive cast of national, world and Olympic figure skaters skate to the music of the season in the “Holiday Celebration on Ice” at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. Olympic Silver medalist and U.S. National champion Nancy Kerrigan and six-time U.S. champion Todd Eldredge highlight the skating cast.

Grant’s career has spanned decades and earned her numerous awards for her well-loved Contemporary Christian music. She is the first Contemporary Christian artist to have a platinum record, the first to hit the top of the pop charts and the first to perform at the Grammy Awards. For almost 30 years, Grant has been mixing elements of pop, folk and country to sing about faith, soul and family. She has earned three multi-platinum albums, six other platinum albums and four more gold albums; scored 10 Top 40 pop singles and 17 Top 40 Adult Contemporary tracks and won six Grammy Awards.

Smith joins forces with Grant for a powerful duo known for songs about faith, love and the holiday season. Smith’s 20th album, “It’s a Wonderful Christmas,” has been played in homes across the nation. Since his debut album in 1983, Smith has won more than 40 Dove Awards, three Grammy’s, an American Music Award and numerous other accolades. He’s sold more than 15 million records including16 gold records and five platinum certifications. Smith was honored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences during its prestigious Grammy honors ceremony.

In addition to the legendary musical talent, champion figure skaters will ring in the holidays with
unforgettable routines and breathtaking talent. Kerrigan and Eldredge will be joined by Olympic champion Ilia Kulik, World champion Yuka Sato, six-time Canadian National champion
Jennifer Robinson, and World ice dancing champion and nine-time Canadian National champion
Shae-Lynn Bourne. Two-time World Silver medalist ice dancing champions Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon, plus three-time World Silver medalist Surya Bonaly and three-time U.S. champion and World Bronze medalist (with partner Kyoko Ina) John Zimmerman, will make for an incredible holiday celebration.
